ELCO Concert Choir
Description
The ELCO Concert Choir is a mixed voice, select ensemble of approximately 40 auditioned singers which performs more challenging choral music from all different time periods. Concert Choir performs outside of the regularly scheduled school concerts for community events. Most rehearsals take place during Period 6 as Concert Choir meets as a class for Semester 1.
Requirements
Students selected for the ELCO Concert Choir are expected to have exceptional rehearsal discipline and technique, consistent effort, good musicianship, and a will-try attitude. Most rehearsals for Concert Choir take place within the school day during the regular chorus period. However, members are expected to rehearse the music individually, so less time is spent during group rehearsals learning notes and rhythms and more time can be spent on musicianship.
Auditions
Auditions for Concert Choir take place at the beginning of each school year. Students must be a member of the ELCO Raider Chorus to participate.
